The final important element of poker is understanding the basic hand rankings. There are many different types of poker hands, but the most common ones are: full house – three matching cards of one rank and two matching cards of another rank; straight — five cards in consecutive order; flush — five cards of the same suit; and two pairs — two matching cards of one rank and three unmatched cards. The player with the best poker hand wins the pot.
